If their nutritional needs are not properly met, it will result in deficiencies. Therefore, their energy and nutrient needs must be properly met so that fetal growth can be optimal. This study aimed to determine the relationship between folic acid intake and newborn weight in the BLUD UPTD Poasia Health Centre working area in Kendari City. This study employed an observational survey with a cross-sectional design. The study population comprised 305 individuals, of whom 173 were selected at random for the sample. Purposive sampling was used to select the sample. A Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) was used to measure food intake during the third trimester of pregnancy. Using the Fisher Exact Test, the results obtained a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05), indicating a significant relationship between the folic acid intake of pregnant women and the weight of their newborn babies. This study concludes that there is a relationship between the folic acid intake of pregnant women and the weight of newborn babies in the BLUD UPTD Poasia Health Centre working area in Kendari City in 2024. Nutritional education for pregnant women should be increased, especially with regard to the importance of micronutrient intake (iron and folic acid), as this affects birth weight.
2026-06-08T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Miracle Journal of Public Health https://journal.fikes-umw.ac.id/index.php/mjph/article/view/548 The Relationship Between Online Game Addiction and Duration with Insomnia Among Trisakti University Students 2026-06-30T06:28:06+00:00 Nany Hairunisa nanyhairunisa@trisakti.ac.id Ignatius David Anthony Danusiswanta nanyhairunisa@trisakti.ac.id
Insomnia is a sleep disorder involving difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep or experiencing poor sleep quality. It is a common problem among college students. The increasing incidence of insomnia is suspected to be related to the development of digital technology, particularly online gaming, through addiction and excessive gaming duration. This study aims to analyze the relationship between gaming addiction and duration of online gaming with the incidence of insomnia among students at the University Trisakti. The study employed an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 194 students, who were selected using consecutive non-random sampling. Data were collected using the Game Addiction Scale (GAS) questionnaire, the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), and an online gaming duration questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the chi-squared test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that the prevalence of online gaming addiction was 40.2%, and of insomnia was 63.4%. A significant relationship was found between online gaming addiction and insomnia (p = 0.004), as well as between online gaming duration and insomnia (p = 0.037). It can therefore be concluded that addiction to online gaming and the duration spent playing are significantly related to the occurrence of insomnia in Trisakti University students.
2026-06-11T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Miracle Journal of Public Health https://journal.fikes-umw.ac.id/index.php/mjph/article/view/573 Factors Related to Student Compliance with the Smoke-Free Area Policy at SMK Negeri 1 Parigi Selatan 2026-06-30T07:09:31+00:00 Muhammad Ryman Napirah muhammadrymannapirah.untad@gmail.com Vidyanto muhammadrymannapirah.untad@gmail.com Sri Rahmadani muhammadrymannapirah.untad@gmail.com
Students can be unpredictable and sometimes do not comply with the No Smoking Area (NSA) policy. At SMK Negeri 1 Parigi Selatan, more than 50 students were found smoking in areas where the NSA has been implemented. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing student compliance with the NSA policy at SMK Negeri 1 Parigi Selatan. The study is quantitative in nature, taking the form of an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 125 male students selected using a total sampling technique. The data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate Chi-Square tests. The results showed significant relationships between student compliance with the NSA policy and attitudes (p = 0.001), facilities and infrastructure (p = 0.005), and peers (p = 0.009), with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) calculated using SPSS. It is expected that schools will organize education on the benefits of NSA to improve students' positive attitudes, provide educational posters in support of NSA, improve facilities and infrastructure, and hold workshops to enhance peer collaboration on the KTR policy.
2026-06-22T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Miracle Journal of Public Health https://journal.fikes-umw.ac.id/index.php/mjph/article/view/580 Philosophy of Health Based on Local Wisdom of the Buton Tribe in Empowering HIV/AIDS Risk Populations in Baubau City: A Literature Review 2026-06-30T06:28:07+00:00 Wa Ode Sitti Justin justinmanis@rocketmail.com Suryo Ediyono justinmanis@rocketmail.com
HIV/AIDS remains a serious public health challenge, particularly among high-risk populations in Baubau City in the Southeast Sulawesi region of Indonesia. The Buton tribe has a long-standing tradition of local wisdom, which is encapsulated by the philosophical systems of Pobinci-Binciki Kuli (mutual empathy and social solidarity) and Bhinci-Bhinciki Kuli. These systems emphasize care, mutual respect and communal responsibility. This literature review explores how this philosophy can empower HIV/AIDS risk populations in Baubau City. A systematic literature review method was employed, involving a search of databases including Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar using keywords such as 'Buton tribe', 'local wisdom', 'HIV/AIDS', and 'health philosophy'. A total of 28 articles published between 2015 and 2025 met the inclusion criteria. The findings reveal that the Buton philosophical values of solidarity, non-discrimination, and communal care provide a culturally resonant foundation for HIV/AIDS prevention and care programmes. Integrating these values into peer education models and community health initiatives can significantly reduce stigma and increase health-seeking behaviour among at-risk populations. The review concludes that incorporating Buton local wisdom into public health strategies provides a sustainable and culturally sensitive approach to addressing HIV/AIDS in Baubau City.
2026-06-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Miracle Journal of Public Health https://journal.fikes-umw.ac.id/index.php/mjph/article/view/566 Evaluation of Determinants of Employee Performance at Oputa Yi Koo Heart and Vascular Hospital, Southeast Sulawesi 2026-06-30T06:28:07+00:00 Sitti Hajrah. H Sittihajrah899@gmail.com Sitti Marya Ulva Sittihajrah899@gmail.com Laode Muhamad Yasmin Sittihajrah899@gmail.com Mariyatni Rasyid Sittihajrah899@gmail.com
Maintaining the quality of hospital services is important, particularly in a specialised cardiovascular hospital, and employee performance is an important factor in achieving this. Preliminary findings at the Oputa Yi Koo Heart and Vascular Hospital revealed several performance-related issues, such as a lack of appreciation from leaders, inadequate supervision, insufficient recognition among colleagues, and punctuality issues among some employees. This study employed a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 602 Oputa Yi Koo Heart and Vascular Hospital employees in Southeast Sulawesi in 2025. A total of 86 respondents were selected using proportional random sampling. Primary data were collected via questionnaires and observations, while secondary data were obtained from hospital reports. The data were analysed using univariate analysis and the chi-square test, followed by the Phi coefficient to determine the strength of association. Most respondents demonstrated good performance (70.9%), sufficient motivation (76.7%) and adequate sanctions (55.8%). The chi-squared test revealed a significant correlation between motivation and employee performance (χ² = 6.938 > 3.841; Phi = 0.314). Sanctions were also significantly related to employee performance (χ² = 6.801 > 3.841; Phi = 0.307). Both relationships were categorised as moderate. Motivation and sanctions were significantly associated with employee performance at Oputa Yi Koo Heart and Vascular Hospital in Southeast Sulawesi. The hospital should therefore strengthen its human resource management by implementing fair rewards, consistent supervision, clear performance evaluations, and transparent disciplinary procedures.
2026-06-26T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Miracle Journal of Public Health https://journal.fikes-umw.ac.id/index.php/mjph/article/view/574 Potential of Mung Beans in Obesity Management: A Narrative Literature Review 2026-06-30T06:28:07+00:00 Nabila Zalfa Maulidya nabila.zalfa.maulidya-2022@fkm.unair.ac.id
Obesity is a growing global health concern, associated with various metabolic disorders and a reduced quality of life. The aim of this narrative literature review was to summarise the current scientific evidence regarding the potential of mung beans (Vigna radiata) as an alternative snack for managing obesity. Articles published between 2020 and 2025 were identified in the PubMed, ScienceDirect, MDPI, and Google Scholar databases. Following a screening process based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, six articles were included in the final analysis. The reviewed studies suggest that mung beans have considerable potential to support weight management and metabolic health thanks to their high dietary fibre, plant-based protein, and bioactive compound content. These components contribute to increased satiety, improved lipid profiles, enhanced insulin sensitivity, and better glucose regulation. Mung bean-based products, including whole beans, flour-based foods, extracts, and functional snack formulations, may provide healthier alternatives to conventional snacks. However, variations in study design, intervention form, and outcome measurements limited direct quantitative comparisons between studies. Overall, mung beans show promise as an affordable, functional food for obesity management, although further clinical studies are required to determine the optimal dosage and frequency of consumption, as well as long-term effectiveness.
2026-06-26T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Miracle Journal of Public Health https://journal.fikes-umw.ac.id/index.php/mjph/article/view/557 H The Relationship Between Environmental Sanitation And Inpatient Satisfaction at North Buton District General Hospital 2026-06-30T06:48:41+00:00 Febryani Alimuddin Lauku febryanilauku@gmail.com Ramadhan Tosepu febryanilauku@gmail.com Jafriati febryanilauku@gmail.com
Patient satisfaction is affected by the hospital environment, facilities, and the healthcare services offered. Properly addressing hospital environmental conditions, also known as environmental sanitation, is essential to providing a clean and comfortable environment that prevents cross-infection and contamination. Common environmental sanitation problems at RSUD Buton Utara (Buton Utara Regional General Hospital) include water and sanitation, pest and vector control, building and facility sanitation, and environmental cleanliness. This study aims to determine the association between inpatient satisfaction and hospital environmental sanitation at RSUD Buton Utara. A cross-sectional research design and quantitative methodology were employed. The sample included 118 patients, and the population consisted of 167 patients. Patient satisfaction was the dependent variable. The independent factors were water and air quality, food quality, sanitation of buildings and facilities, waste safety, and the presence of pests and vectors. There was an association between inpatient satisfaction and water and sanitation (p = 0.016), air and sanitation (p = 0.004), building and facility conditions (p = 0.000), waste safety (p = 0.009), and the presence of pests and vectors (p = 0.000). However, there was no association between patient satisfaction and food sanitation (p = 1.000). RSUD Buton Utara needs to provide, maintain, and enhance facilities that can improve hospital environmental sanitation.
2026-06-29T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Miracle Journal of Public Health https://journal.fikes-umw.ac.id/index.php/mjph/article/view/578 Evaluation of JKN Financing Policy and Strategic Procurement of Services for the Sustainability and Quality of Care: A Literature Review 2026-06-30T06:28:07+00:00 Adzroo Atiiqoh Nur Nabiila 2310713049@mahasiswa.upnvj.ac.id Nasywa Athiyah Zahra 2310713049@mahasiswa.upnvj.ac.id Nazhifa Nurul Azizah 2310713051@mahasiswa.upnvj.ac.id Riswandy Wasir 2310713049@mahasiswa.upnvj.ac.id Cahya Arbitera 2310713049@mahasiswa.upnvj.ac.id
The National Health Insurance (JKN) programme is a health financing policy designed to achieve universal health coverage by improving access to healthcare services and providing financial protection for the population. It implements a strategic purchasing approach through capitation and INA-CBGs payment mechanisms to promote efficiency and improve the quality of care. This study aims to evaluate JKN financing policies and the implementation of the strategic purchase of healthcare services by conducting a literature review. A literature review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA 2020 guidelines, involving a systematic search across three academic databases. After screening and an eligibility assessment, ten articles met the inclusion criteria. The results reveal that JKN financing has shifted towards a prospective payment system; however, several challenges persist, including discrepancies between tariffs and actual costs, ineffective claims management and limitations in human resources and information system integration. Meanwhile, strengthening information systems, improving human resource competencies and enhancing coordination among stakeholders are recognised as supporting factors. The study concludes that BPJS Kesehatan should periodically adjust INA-CBG tariffs based on case complexity and actual service costs; primary healthcare facilities should strengthen their gatekeeping function through improved capitation incentive design; and hospitals should prioritise diagnostic coding standardisation and internal claims auditing.
2026-06-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Miracle Journal of Public Health
